COLGAN FOUNDATION PARA TRAINING CENTER - PLAYA EL COCAL - SURF CITY EL SALVADOR
World’s First Para Surf Training Center - ONETEAMSV built the “Colgan Foundation Para Training Center” as a year-round para-training center focused on providing a safe year-round athlete in training residency program for El Salvador’s Paralympic Athletes. The training center also serves as a home to international para-athletes and their sport federations who visit to train alongside our El Salvador National Paralympic Team Surfers, Climbers and Ski Racers.
The center was founded by the Powers and Colgan Families with support from Ed Bell and Gries Financial along with Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
Over the past 14 years ONETEAMSV has developed a wide array of best practice, evidence based -programming for El Salvador’s: security forces, police, firefighters, disaster first responders, national life guards and national sports federations to include the independent Olympic and Paralympic Committees.
Today thousands of immediate first on scene first responders, tourism and rural police agents and national parks staff have successfully completed ONETEAMSV’s ‘Ministry of Homeland Basic Life Saving Course’ and experience ongoing concurrency training.
For nearly 30 years, ONETEAM El Salvador’s parent NGO ONETEAMCF.org has supported military resiliency programming throughout the world.
Today, we have created a scholarship program for combat wounded service members to come to the Colgan Foundation Para Surf Training Center and enjoy outdoor experiential growth through surf in the warm waters of SurfCity.

”Guardavidas” as the National Lifeguards are called in El Salvador are not only trained water safety professionals, they are partnered with ONETEAMSV in supporting the countries Surf City Para Surf Team. Nowhere in the world will you find Para Surf athlete support as strong as what exists in Surf City El Salvador today! .
The Colgan Foundation Para Surf and Climbing Training Center is the first purpose built training center of its kind in the world with a full-time staff dedicated to working with Para Athletes. Our hope and prayer is that more facilities and staffs like ours will take root throughout the world in the years to come.
In additional to providing Para Training facilities to the world, ONETEAMSV is the official Para Sport Federation Managers for Para Surf, Ski and Climbing in El Salvador. We are partnered with the countries National Sports Institute, Council For Persons with Disablilities, Paralympic and Olympic Committees, and International Surf, Ski and Climbing Federations. Our goal is straight forward - proved a loving caring environment which allows two young victims of El Salvadoran Gang violence the opportunity to pursue the Olympic/Paralympic Dream while eliminating the Able Bodied Phobia of the Disabled Community throughout the country and world. We believe in growth and shattering glass ceilings throughout the world while making the impossible - possible both here in El Salvador and throughout the world.
